Dare to Believe Ambassadors Competing at World Championships

Our roster of top class Irish athletes will be going  into classrooms all over the country this school year to share their personal stories of resilience, excellence, respect and friendship, and inspire students.. But before they go back to school, many of them will be fresh off their World Championship campaigns in rugby, boxing, athletics & rowing!

???????????? Orla Comerford became DOUBLE World Champion at the 2025 Para Athletics World Championships in New Delhi. Teammate and fellow Dare to Believe ambassador Greta Streimikyte also won gold in the 1500m! (read more).

????‍♂️ ????Fintan McCarthy won the  World Rowing Champs in the mix double with  Mags Cremen in China and finished in the bronze position with Philip Doyle. Well done also to Ross Corrigan and Natalie Long for taking part too.

???? Shout out to the entire Irish boxing team, especially our own Dare to Believe ambassador, Grainne Walsh on winning a bronze medal at the Boxing World Championships in Liverpool; Dean Clancy and Jack Marley fought well. Congrats to World Champion Aoife O’Rourke & bronze medallist Patsy Joyce!

????Well done also to the incredible battle the Irish Women’s Rugby team gave in the quarter finals of the Women’s World Cup against France, only to be narrowly defeated. Amee-Leigh Costigan and Stacy Flood represented the Olympic 7’s team so well.

????????‍♂️Many Dare to Believe athletics stars have been competing at the World Championships including Sarah Lavin in the hurdles who finished 13th over all, Andrew Coscoran in the 1500m (into the final)  and Nicola Tuthill (11th overall) in the hammer. Well done also to Eric Favors in the shot putt and the whole Irish team for their world class performances!
