RING 3:

Joy of Effort + Courage

In this unit students will enjoy the video profiles on some of Ireland’s top Olympians before researching psychological concepts such as intrinsic & extrinsic motivation and flow. Students will reflect on what brings them joy and considers their own future careers. Switching gears students will discuss and reflect on the Paralympic value of courage and learn about the Olympic Federation of Ireland’s campaign for people to find the courage to call out inappropriate behavior online specifically referring to hate speech, abuse and discrimination. This ring ends with a message around the importance of vulnerability.

Activities include: Videos, self-reflection, courage quiz & group discussion.
